Hippodrome Theatre
NEW WORKS FESTIVAL
The New Works Festival focuses on new play development of established and emerging Florida playwrights. Over a week-long residency, playwrights are invited to workshop a new work which is followed by a public readings at the Hippodrome Theatre, an AEA professional theatre in Gainesville, Florida. The heart of the festival is to create opportunity for playwrights to develop their work in an environment that supports risk-taking, experimentation, and precision in storytelling.
