Teaching

At the center of all her actor training is

'The Heart Centered Actor' technique. 

This technique clarifies and deepens the connection between an actor's intuitive inner environment and their connection to other actors on stage, using various somatic and performance practices she has taught for the past 23 years.

Studio as Experiment "Lab"

Michelle has taught acting and directing in numerous university actor training programs (University of Florida; Barry University; Jacksonville State University; BMCC), empowering actors in the use of  Lessac Kinesensics somatic BodyVoice in the training of Heightened Text Styles: The Greeks, Commedia dell'Arte, Shakespeare, Moliere, Restoration Comedy, Chekhov, Absurdism, Pinter and Farce.

Her performance teaching practice is rooted in Stanislavski/Hagen and informed by the methodologies of Ethics of Care, The Female Gaze, and Polyvagal Theory. 

 

She considers the studio a place for 

vulnerability, bravery and ferocity.
