THE PLIANT GIRLS
A contemporary adaptation of Aeschylus' The Suppliants, Meghan Brown's play follows the story of fifty sisters married off to their cousins as they fight for freedom in a world where they have no voice of their own.

The Female Gaze
As a response to this radical, feminist adaptation, Michelle continued her research and praxis in The Female Gaze. Michelle investigated "deconstructing the pretty" by pushing against the standard expectation of storytelling through composition and context by subverting the norms of women's storytelling and protagonism and substituting a deeper recognition of what is beautiful and compelling in the human experience.
